Conducts regulatory inspections of organic operators, which include primarily farm operations and food-based processors. Education and experience in the agricultural industry is required. Must be able to interact with the farm community. Strong communication and computer skills required.
Applicant must be willing to travel, mostly within the Western provinces and be able to work with little supervision. A drivers license is required.
Training can be provided, but a basic understanding of agriculture, the organic certification process and applicable standards and regulations will be beneficial. A farm background will be very helpful.
